Romantic Getaway @ Boston
Boston Hotels for Romantic Getaway
For a more romantic, peaceful experience in the country, try staying in one
of the north shore regions such as Salem, Beverly, Gloucester, or Rockport,
which is especially popular with college students and is an "artsy" seaside
community that is known for its many fishing boats and picturesque
landscape.
It isn't uncommon to see people lined along the Rockport shore
painting or sketching and the photographic opportunities are incredible
year-round. Day trips outside Boston extend to all regions of New England but an automobile is necessary. Cape Cod and the Islands are south of Boston, with charming old-style inns throughout this pretty stretch. Some, though, lack basic necessities such as air conditioning and telephones. During the autumn, foliage conquers the eyes and hearts of many. And, in the winter, ski resorts boom, especially in the northern states.
If you and your traveling companion are theater buffs, you might opt to stay in "the Alley," directly across the Common. This area boasts a string of bars and clubs and lies between the city's much heralded Theater District and Chinatown. The Tremont House and Radisson are popular hotels, especially for the out-of-town theater crowd.
